10th Dec 2012 Party Ingredients Advent Calendar - Alternative Christmas Shopping

When the bright lights, crowds and busy department stores of the West End are a little too much to handle, London also offers enjoyable alternatives. With our tips for dazzling Christmas shopping, you might just end up finding unique, handmade gifts to friends and family this year.

Dazzle 2012

Dazzle takes place at the National Theatre showcasing the best talent in jewellery, silversmithing and printmaking from November 2012 until January 2013. New designers and recent arts college graduates are exhibiting their raw talent alongside experienced artists and designers. We love Selina Campbell’s contemporary silver jewellery, Karen Mabon’s fascinating designs and Jackie Field’s stunning, unique woodcut prints inspired by various UK and international venues. All of the 88 artists are amazing, though.

Contemporary Applied Arts (CAA) invited all of their artists to take part in their annual Christmas exhibition by creating up to five limited edition pieces each. The result: excellent unusual Christmas shopping event with a vast variety of unique accessories, glassware, jewellery, ceramics and textiles on offer. This also takes place for the whole of December. We love.
