7th Dec 2012 Party Ingredients Advent Calendar This Weekend: Feast in East, Arts in West

This weekend, London is divided in two by the themes of the Christmas markets and fayres taking place across town. East London is buzzing with street festivals and markets for foodies, cooks and generally anyone who loves being around and sampling good food. West London is alive with Christmas fayres centred around arts and design – great gift ideas guaranteed!

Street Feast Weekender – Hackney Downs
All weekend marathon session of eating, drinking and festivities starting with a late night (until 2am with the help of a few great DJs) on Friday and continuing over the weekend. Some of London’s best street food traders will be serving up great food and warm seasonal cocktails at Hackney Downs Studios, a warehouse-turned-festive haven.

Taste of Christmas – ExCel London
The ultimate London food & drink festival, the Taste of London brings us a Christmas themed Taste event called Taste of Christmas. Organised at the ExCel, this is a major event with hundreds of exhibitors: Restaurants, food and wine suppliers from well-known brands to artisan producers, chefs and professional foodies. Tickets start from £19.

FEAST - Islington Square
Another East London street food festival, this one is organised at a used Victorian sorting office that has been turned into a ‘spectacular seasonal setting for a boisterous Christmas Market’. This is not the first food festival the FEAST collective organise, and the sold-out previous events have been claimed to be in the top ten food festivals by The Independent. Expect luxurious street food sampling and exciting performances from the Woodburner collective.

Kilburn to Kensal Winter Market – The Albert
The Winter market is a prelude to the weekly Kilburn to Kensal Market launching in January 2013. The idea is to celebrate the versatility of the vibrant North West London area, local talent and creativity. The Winter Market is filled with a variety of products from local artists and traders – anything from quirky crafts to inspiring arts. There will also be food, children’s entertainment and music.
