City Venue of the Month: Barber-Surgeons' Hall
2 Jul 2018 | Kate Bassett
Barber-Surgeons' Hall has held the site in Monkwell Square since the 1440s. Sadly the original Hall was destroyed in the Great Fire of London, but the current Hall, opened in 1969, blends the historical connection with the comfort & practicality of a modern venue. With four light, airy and versatile function rooms, and charming outside space for al fresco entertaining, it's clear to see why Barber-Surgeons' Hall is popular with conference clients. The Great Hall seats up to 140 for conferences, with the Reception Room offering a perfect breakout space. Two smaller meeting spaces - the Court Room and the Charter Room - are suited for board meetings & private conversations. The Terrace offers views of the historic London Wall, and guests are welcomed to enjoy the Physic Garden where over 40 medicinal herbs are grown, tended by the Barber-Surgeons'. The space comes to life at night with spotlights lighting up the London Wall, making this a perfect choice for Summer Parties. For those thinking a little further ahead, the grandeur of the Great Hall creates the perfect backdrop to our Highland Fling themed Christmas Party packages. Seating up to 120 for a 3 course meal, or standing up to 250 with food stations, guests can be greeted by a traditional bagpiper in the entrance foyer, and reel the night away with a Ceilidh band in the Reception Room.
