Unique London Venue: The Fifth Platinum Friends' Dinner at Royal Hospital Chelsea
14 Feb 2014 |
Designed by Sir Christopher Wren more than 300 years ago, the Royal Hospital Chelsea is a prestigious venue, situated in the heart of one of London’s most fashionable districts on the banks of the River Thames. The venue offers a number of historic and beautiful spaces for private and corporate hire, the most impressive of which is the Great Hall. With its rich mahogany panelled walls, fine oil paintings and beautiful 17th century mural by Antonio Verrio, the Great Hall was an excellent backdrop for the Fifth Platinum Friends’ Dinner.
The event was organised to show appreciation to the Platinum Members' continued support of the Friends' Programme and the guests were treated to a 5 course meal at beautifully set-up dinner tables. The dishes included Fennel Cured Pollock served with Prawn and Sauvignon Chartreuse, Tomato and French Beans Julienne; and Hereford Fillet Steak served with Champ Potatoes and Glazed Chantenay Carrots with Caraway. The desserts were an impressive highlight of the meal, with Party Ingredients serving up a sensational Delice of White and Dark Chocolate with Espresso Ice-cream and Sesame Shards, followed by a delightful cheese course of Camembert Souffle. Coffee was accompanied by our home-made Pistachio Macaroons and Rum and Raisin Fudge.
The Royal Hospital Chelsea is a magnificent venue in central London, the hire profits of which go towards securing the future of the buildings themselves, as well as towards the Chelsea Pensioners who live here.
