Get your garden ready for Autumn

The small amount of rain that we have had recently has done wonders for our gardens (and our weeds!).Now is an ideal time to plant many different varieties of vegetable to ensure that you have a bumper crop for your Autumnal salads. Here are the key seeds that you should be planting now:
Beetroot – sow at intervals to ensure a constant crop
Broccoli – plant these out now if you haven’t already
Cabbages – sow spring varieties now, and plant out any you’ve had under cover
Carrots – continue to sow at intervals to ensure a constant crop
Cauliflowers – transplant autumn varieties early in the month
Kale – plant out any that you’ve had indoors or under cover now
Leeks – if they’re not out already, move indoor-sown leeks outdoors now
Peas – continue to sow at intervals to ensure a constant crop
Radishes – continue to sow at intervals to ensure a constant crop
Spring onions – sow these now for pulling in October
