Summer Solstice G&T Recipe
16 Jun 2014 |
In celebration of World Gin Day last weekend, our expert mixologists have been busily formulating their ultimate gin cocktail. Taking inspiration from our American friends, we have been sourcing ingredients from far and wide to replicate concoctions such as San Fran’s ‘Conquistador’, featuring the illusive cinchona bark powder paired with chile de arbol and anise tonic; and a celery-flavoured ‘Mother of Pearl’ creation from Atlanta.
With a multitude of artisanal distilleries in the UK that offer unique and distinctly-flavoured spirits, we have been thoroughly spoilt for choice in selecting our favourite. After having sampled our way through the majority of spirits that are on offer (it’s a hard life), our gin of choice this summer is the delectable City of London Dry Gin. Their perfect serve sees the smooth spirit paired with Fever-Tree tonic water and a vibrant segment of pink grapefruit.
Why not celebrate the longest day of the year this Saturday with our Summer Solstice botanical G&T recipe garnished with lavender and delicate hibiscus flowers to give a summery pink hue:
makes one drink
50ml City of London Dry Gin
200ml Fever-Tree Tonic Water
Botanicals: Juniper Berries and Coriander
Garnish: Hibiscus Flower
Pour gin and tonic into your favourite tall cocktail glass filled with ice. Stir through your desired amount of juniper berry and coriander seed botanicals. Add a hibiscus flower garnish which will gradually intensify in colour for a dusky pink hue. Alternative garnishes: try substituting hibiscus flower with fresh cucumber, lavender or borage through the summer months.
If you'd prefer a gin-specialist serving you your exceptionally on-trend G&T, happily, Fever-Tree are currently hosting the latest Hoxton pop-up bar boasting over 160 different gins for a limited time only. Click here for more info.
