Winter Warmers: Mulled Cider Recipe

  • 1 litre dry cider
  • 60 millilitres dark rum

  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cardamom pods (bruised)
  • 1 small clementine


  1. Prepare the Base:

    • Separate the clementine into individual pieces.

    • Once the pan is near boiling, reduce the heat to keep it warm.

Non-Alcoholic Version:

For those looking to enjoy a non-alcoholic version of this spiced cider, simply replace the cider and rum with the following:

  • 1 litre/4 cups of apple juice
  • 60ml/quarter cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

You may not need the sugar, but taste the mixture when warm to determine if you’d like to add a little sweetness.
